The very first official teaser trailer for the Amy Winehouse documentary will capture your heart.

The film, Amy, directed by Asif Kapadia, follows the life of British singer Amy Winehouse up until her death from alcohol poisoning in 2011. She was just 27-years-old.

In the short trailer, there are clips from when Winehouse was just a teenager discovering her love for music. Throughout the trailer, Winehouse talked about her drive to write personal music and how lucky she was to have music in her life.

"I won't write anything unless it was directly personal to me just cause I wouldn't be able to tell the story right," she had said. "I am not a girl trying to be a star or trying to be anything other than a musician."

When asked - at the time - if she thinks she would be a big celebrity, she answered, "I don't think I'm going to be at all famous, I don't think I could handle it. I would probably go mad, do you know what I mean, I would go mad."

Winehouse was known for her deep vocals and eclectic music style. She gained international fame from her album, "Back to Black," which won five Grammy Awards in 2008, making Winehouse the first British female singer to win five Grammys in one night.

Throughout her time in the spotlight, Winehouse dealt with a lot of issues that included substance abuse and addiction. She also admitted to having problems with self-harm, depression as well as eating disorders.

The movie will reportedly tell Winehouse's story from "her own words." It will feature never before seen archive footage and debut songs that she recorded but never released.

On the film's Facebook page, Kapadia and producer James Gay-Rees wrote a description about the film that read:

"This is an incredibly modern, emotional and relevant film that has the power to capture the zeitgeist and shine a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few films can.

Amy was a once-in-a-generation talent who captured everyone's attention; she wrote and sung from the heart and everyone fell under her spell. But tragically Amy seemed to fall apart under the relentless media attention, her troubled relationships, her global success and her precarious lifestyle. As a society we celebrated her huge success but then we were quick to judge her failings when it suited us."

"Amy" will be released in the United Kingdom on July 3.
