In efforts to make its cloud storage offering standout from the competition, Amazon has announced the availability of two tiers of unlimited storage for Cloud Drive.

Starting with $11.99 per year, you'll be able to store unlimited photos, including 5GB of video and other files.

Another plan, called Unlimited Everything plan, which charges $59.99 per year, can be used to store unlimited number of media (photos, videos, music etc.)

These unlimited offerings are the first of its kind that offer limitless cloud storage outside of select criteria.

"Most people have a lifetime of birthdays, vacations, holidays, and everyday moments stored across numerous devices. And, they don't know how many gigabytes of storage they need to back all of them up," said Josh Petersen, director of Amazon Cloud Drive, in a statement. "With the two new plans we are introducing today, customers don't need to worry about storage space -- they now have an affordable, secure solution to store unlimited amounts of photos, videos, movies, music, and files in one convenient place."

Unlike Dropbox and Google, which require subscriptions and special business status for access to limitless cloud storage, e-commerce giant is opening up for anyone wanting and willing to pay for secure cloud storage.

Currently, Amazon is offering the services on a free 90-day trail period. For Prime members and Fire device owners, the included unlimited photo plan will remain unchanged, however the fee for the Unlimited Everything plan still applies, ZDNet noted.
