Kanye West's new album could sound similar to Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly."

The 37-year-old rapper, whose album will be titled "So Help Me God," recently tweeted his admiration for Lamar's record, which was dropped nearly a week earlier than its March 23rd release date. In his messages, West stated that he was heading back to the studio while listening to Kendrick's album, which he called an inspiration.

Lamar has previously complimented West's work as well. He stated, in regards to "Yeezus," according to MTV, "It was hard for me to grasp it on the first take. As I kept listening throughout the week, I understood what he was doing. That was him stepping out the box again and doing what he felt. As an artist, we all need to take heed and salute that."

West has also recently talked about Canadian rapper, Drake in an interview with Paris' Clique TV. West stated that he views Drake and his music as factors that drive his motivation to make better music.

"I look at Drake as an amazing sparring partner," West said. "Someone who's like, 'Come on, man, get back up!' Bow! 'Get back up! What's up, bro? What you doing?'"

He added, "I was sitting there getting fat. Sitting back, just knocked everybody out. And then this guy hits the gym, he's just running around like, bow, 14 hits, same as Paul McCartney. I'm like, 'Whoa. OK. Let me go to the studio, then. Let's see what's happening. Let me get these lyrics up. Let me see what's happening.' So, that's where we at right now, that's where you getting these records from."

West's album currently does not have a release date but he has hinted that it will be released this fall. He is expected to drop it on a random date like Beyoncé did with her latest album.
