Microsoft Surface Pro 4 might be released in July this year, according to rumors. However, the upcoming version of Surface Pro might be weaker than the Surface Pro 3.

The Surface Pro 4 is likely to be more energy efficient compared to Surface Pro 3 but the downside is that the performance will take a toll.

"It's also widely believed the Surface Pro 4 will exchange power for efficiency and ditch the Haswell dual-core i5 and i7 Intel processors in favour of Intel's new Broadwell range of chips. This should mean energy use is reduced by around 30% compared to the Surface Pro 3 chips, but it may sacrifice some power in doing so," reported PCPro.

Rumors also suggest that Microsoft might be working on a new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Mini model which could be powered by an Intel Atom 64-bit processor. These processors will go by the name of "Cherry Trail and will be focused on boosting battery life, graphics, and performance.

Surface Pro 4 is expected to ship with Windows 10 out of the box and will be the first flagship device for the tablet build of the new OS and a prime example of Continuum. However, due to uncertain nature of the Windows 10 release date, the device could ship with Window 8.1 and a free upgrade to Windows 10.
