The New York Jets have landed top free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, Revis' agents Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod confirmed.

According to the sources, Revis signed a five-year deal worth $70 million with a $39 million guarantee. The 29-year-old, who just won Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots, will make $16 million in 2015 and $17 million in 2016, both of which are guaranteed. In 2017, Revis is due $17 million with a $6 million guarantee. ESPN.com reported that Revis' salary average of $14 million a year ties Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman for highest among the league's cornerbacks.

Revis became a free agent on Tuesday when the Patriots declined to pick up his $20 million contract option, which included a $12.5 million roster bonus for 2015. The Patriots were reportedly still negotiating with Revis and had hoped to sign him to a contract extension. However, the Jets' deal was just too good to pass up and Revis had one message for Jets fans. In his Twitter post, he wrote, "NEW YORK I'm coming home."

Jets owner Woody Johnson has said on several occasions that he wanted Revis back in New York. Earlier this year, Johnson said during a news conference, "Darrelle is a great player. I'd love for Darrelle to come back." At the time, Revis was still on the Patriots' roster, which led the organization to file a tampering charge against the Jets. The charge is still pending.

Revis, who was drafted by the Jets in 2007, finished 2014 with 47 combined tackles, one forced fumble and two interceptions. In his career, spanning eight seasons, Revis record 391 combined tackles and 23 interceptions.

Revis will undoubtedly make the Jets' defense even better than it already is. The Jets have a very strong defensive front.
