Harrison Ford managed to cajole his single-engine plane into a forced landing on a Southern California golf course after the plane's engine failed on Thursday. Following the incident, Twitter was buzzing with an outpouring of well wishes from other celebrities expressing concern for the actor.

The 72-year-old remained hospitalized Friday and his son Ben Ford took to Twitter to reassure fans:

"Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man."

Sources familiar with the said that Ford slammed into the plane's console and control stick and that he underwent surgery Thursday night. He suffered a broken arm and a nasty gash to his head, among other injuries, they said.

Later on Thursday, his publicist issued a statement to news outlets saying Ford was expected "to make a full recovery." "Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery."

"Parks and Recreation" star Adam Scott summed up the feelings of most Ford supports in one simple tweet: "Harrison Ford RULES."

"I hope #HarrisonFord gets six days, seven nights of rest! (Yeah, it's an easy joke, but it's his most popular movie)," wrote comedian Patton Oswalt, referring to Ford's 1998 comedy with Anne Heche.

"Glad to hear Harrison is doing well. Get well soon. May all his future flights be green-screen!," tweeted Mark Hamill.
