Here's How SpaceX's Falcon 9 Crashed While Landing [Video]

SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket successfully lunched with a 2.2-ton package of supplies and experiments for the International Space Station on Tuesday but ended up toppling over after descending to a barge parked in the Atlantic Ocean.

The rocket managed to achieve its primary goal but failed in landing attempt.

"Looks like Falcon landed fine, but excess lateral velocity caused it to tip over post landing," SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted.

SpaceX originally posted the video footage of the crash landing, but it took and marked private on YouTube last afternoon.

"I'm pretty sure that we will figure this out and make it work on the barge,"Hans Koenigsmann, SpaceX's chief engineer and vice president for mission assurance told engineers. "It's just a matter of finding the right parameters, finding the right method to do this. I don't think it's something fundamental. At the end of the day, you want to land on land anyway, so this makes it a little easier to test."
