Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update Rolling For HTC One M8 Unlocked and Developer Editions

Unlocked and Developer Editions of HTC One M8 are now officially receiving the Android 5.0.1 update. The update weighs 584.83MB and brings the HTC One M8 to software version 4.16.1540.8 and Android 5.0.1 with Sense 6.0.

The update is being rolled well before the HTC's promised 90-day timing.

HTC has also said that the HTC One M8 Eye will receive the Lollipop within 120 days from their original November 3rd announcement so update for Eye might be on the way as well. The next in line are original HTC One (M7) and HTC One Mini.

The updates for carrier branded models might be arriving in few days/weeks as well, as there is no official word on it yet.

In other unrelated news, HTC next flagship M9 might be launched during its Mobile World Congress press conference on March 1st. The company is expected to release the device alongside a smartwatch. The phone could feature a 20-megapixel rear camera and an "UltraPixel" front-facing camera and could be powered by an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor.
