It's official. There's a new generation of Pokemon making their way to the popular augmented reality gaming app, Pokemon Go, and it looks like the rollout has just begun.

Yesterday, Niantic and The Pokemon Company posted a new video on the Pokemon Go YouTube Channel announcing the arrival of the Gen II Pokemon in Pokemon Go. The developers are starting to rollout the second generation of Pokemon in the app through Pokemon Eggs which gamers have to hatch within the game. The gaming app's developers have begun the Gen II rollout with Pokemon like Togepi and Pichu, and it seems like both Niantic and The Pokemon Company will be slowly issuing out even more Gen II Pokemon as months pass by.

The official Pokemon Go Gen II Pokemon description reads:

"Professor Willow has discovered Togepi and Pichu hatching from Eggs! Starting later today, Trainers will have the opportunity to hatch these and several other Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Johto Region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. These are the first of more Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO over the next few months."

With babies as the theme for the new Pokemon Go update, Polygon reports that other Gen II Pokemon have also been added to the list of newcomers along with Niantic's featured Pichu and Togepi. There's Cleffa, which later on evolves into Clefairy, one of the cutest Pokemon in the entire franchise. Gamers are also getting baby Igglybuff and little Smoochum, along with Elekid and Magby. Tyrogue has also been made available in Pokemon Go through the new update - an interesting addition since the baby Pokemon can evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or Hitmontop depending on the stats that it makes.

Of course, as the developer announced in the new Pokemon Go update trailer, gamers will be slowly getting even more new Gen II Pokemon in the game. Meanwhile, as gamers collect eggs to get Gen II baby Pokemon, special Pikachu have been released all over the globe. The holiday Pikachu are all wearing Santa hats to celebrate Christmas and gamers that bump into them in the wild can take pictures of the special little Pikachu.
