"Reign" is coming back for its Season 4 in February but it will be the last season for Queen Mary and her court. CW announced the cancellation of the show as it finds a drop in rating during its Season 3.

With no "Reign" Season 5 coming, fans are searching history books about the fate of Queen Mary. Most loyal fans are also going to Twitter to show their disappointment about CW's decision and to also show their support for Mary (Adelaide Kane), Just Jared reported.

However, some fans also acknowledge that decision of CW to end "Reign" with Season 4 was also just practical and right for the story. This will also give way for fans to prepare for what is coming and what to expect.

Since Francis (Toby Regbo) died, the romantic storyline stopped for a while. Most know that Francis' death is impending but fans still find his death the end of "Reign" as well. With "Reign" Season 4, a new love interest will come into play and Queen Mary will wed her cousin Lord Darnley.

If "Reign" Season 4 would follow history, the ending of Mary's story would not be all great. Mary, the Queen of Scots, would not have a good ending after her second husband Lord Darnley dies.

Everything will go south for the queen of Scots if CW would follow history during the last season of "Reign." However, fans are still hoping that it will be different this time and that Mary will have a good ending even though Bothwell will come on Season 4.

The third husband of Queen Mary, the Earl of Bothwell would be her downfall. If CW would create a different ending that would not hurt Mary in any way, fans may be able to fall asleep better even if the historical drama would end with "Reign" Season 4.
