There are plenty of fish in the sea. And 5000 of this population is found in an ice skating rink in Japan. Space World, an amusement park in Kitakyushu, just added their newest attraction - a frozen aquarium ice skating rink.

According to a report from Nature World News, the amusement park Space World opened their latest attraction on November 12 this year. The amusement park claims that their "Ice Aquarium" is the first ice skating rink of its kind to open in the world.

Measuring 250 meters long, the "Ice Aquarium" is said to have around 5000 dead fishes installed on ice. The report also stated that the frozen aquarium features at least 250 different fish species.

Fish species included mackerel and other fish species with their mouths open, as reported by Time. The fishes were also installed in ice, forming arrows and words like "HELLO."

According to reports, Space World wanted to educate its park visitors about the different kinds of fish species while letting them have lots of fun and experience the ocean.

And while Space World has a great vision and purpose in opening the "Ice Aquarium" attraction in their park, it did not escape from the negative comments from people who found the new attraction as a sign of disrespect to the creatures, according to BBC.

In line with this, Space World has posted an apology on their official website. The statement said that the amusement park has been receiving a lot of negative feedback from the public and that they sincerely apologize for coming up with the idea.

On the other hand, according to reports, Space World insisted that the fishes found in the frozen aquarium were already dead and were bought from the fish market.

Space World has decided to close the "Ice Aquarium" on November 17. The amusement park also said in a statement that they will bring the skating rink back to its old state, and is expected to be finished in December.
