'Doctor Who' 2016 Christmas Special 'The Return Of Doctor Mysterio' With Superhero; Season 10 Air Date, Spoilers & Updates
"Doctor Who" is returning to the big screen for its 2016 Christmas Special through Fathom Events entitled "The Return Of Doctor Mysterio" this December.
The preview of "Doctor Who" 2016 Christmas Special entitled "The Return Of Doctor Mysterio" reveals the storyline is basically about saving New York City from aliens. Peter Capaldi's team of doctors joins forces with comic superhero played by actor Justin Chatwin and investigative journalist played by actress Charity Wakefield in a plot to save the Big Apple from an alien threat. Matt Lucas, Aleksandar Jovanovic, Logan Hoffman, and Adetomiwa Edun will also be joining "Doctor Who" 2016 Christmas special.
The "Doctor Who" 2016 Christmas Special screen includes 60-minute episode of "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" and two bonus features called "A New Kind Of Superhero" offering insider exclusive at the concept of the modern superhero "Doctor Who" and "Christmas Doctor Who Extra" feature with special appearances of Matt Lucas and Peter Capaldi off-screen and executive producer and showrunner Steven Moffat. The special was mainly shot in Cardiff with executive producer Brian Minchin, producer Peter Bennet, and director Ed Bazalgette, produced by Wales BBC Studios.
After a year of hiatus, "Doctor Who" fans who can't wait for the upcoming Season 10 debuting in April 2017 can catch their favorite stars on the big screen for the holidays. "Doctor Who" Season 10 premiere will kick off next year with Pearl Mackie as Doctor's new companion after Jenna Coleman left last year.
"Doctor Who" 2016 Christmas Special will be hitting movie theaters for two nights on December 27, 2016, until December 29, 2016, at 7:00PM nationwide. Tickets are available online and will be aired at around 400 movie theaters. Fans who can't make it to the big screen will be able to catch "Doctor Who" 2016 Christmas Special "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" on BBC America on December 25, 2016.
