Snapchat Spectacles "Snapbot" vending machine has been turning up in random areas around the United States in the previous week. The locations of the first two Snapbot appearances were somewhat sentimental to the company, the third location was a tricky one.
Where has Snapbot turned up so far?
The Snapchat Spectacles vending machine first appeared in California Venice Beach complete with its signature bright yellow-ness and festive balloons on a sidewalk that was Snapchat's first office.
Then, Snapbot was spotted at Big Sur, California, where the Snapchat's CEO Evan Spiegel spent his first vacation with fiancee Miranda Kerr.
The third location was unconventional - in Catoosa, Oklahoma on a sunny Tuesday morning. The Snapchat Spectacles vending machine was next to a blue whale sculpture in Oklahoma.
Where will Snapbot turn up next?
Theories are aplenty about where Snapchat Spectacles will be dispensing. While it is unclear where Snapchat will unveil another Snapbot, Business Insider postulates based on Snapchat's company history, its permits, and where Spiegel had traveled to. The report adds that the Snapchat Spectacles will more likely be coming to the East Coast, adding that the company might avoid typical Silicon Valley crowd.
Even online companies require permits to do business in a specific area. Weeks before Snapchat Spectacles debuted in California, the company had already obtained a permit to sell. Based on that information, Snapchat Spectacles might be dispensing towards the Midwest, headed over to the North. VRScout confirmed Snapbot's valid permit in the states of Texas, Washington, Hawaii, and Nevada.
Snapbot dispenses $130 Snapchat Spectacles. Purchases are restricted to one pair per person only, each vending machine dispenses around 200 pairs. Some buyers who failed to get to these vending machines on time buys them off eBay for $1,000 a pair.
Speculations suggest Snapchat Spectacles may soon be turning up in Washington and Nevada. Snapchat declined to comment on the news.
