On the finale of the third season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the host tried to dissect Trump (or Drumpf as he called him) and his victory. He tried to figure out how Americans chose the president infamous for his controversial comments.

He said that he is still shocked that Donald Trump is the president of America and compared the victory as Vanilla Ice winning a Nobel Prize for Physics.

All throughout the episode, Oliver chatted how an average non-Trump supporter was shocked by the election results. He added that it now scary that a man he thinks is unqualified to hold the highest power in the country will have the access to nuclear codes and appointing the new member of Supreme Court.

He also discussed a point about Trump and the authenticity of his proposals and policies like building a wall among Mexico, deporting more than two million immigrants, and suing the media "for rigging the elections."

Oliver said he already accepted the results of the elections but he urged people to remain vigilant. He also encouraged his viewers to be aware when  the things Trump has been criticized as he saying, will finally become a reality. He said that the president-elect is not the traditional type.

The host also blamed the media for shaping Trump not as a serious presidential contender but an entertainment for the mass. Despite that, he did not fully blame the media as he pointed out some good reporting done during the elections.

But he said there is a bigger factor than mainstream media that catapulted Trump into winning the majority of electoral colleges: social media. Oliver said that the rampant fake news, which was also engaged by Trump himself, became influential to the voters.

With so much negativity going on with the episode, Oliver wanted to end the show on a positive note by telling the citizens of America to not lose hope after the election results. He quickly encouraged people not to migrate to Canada.
