The world was shocked in yesterday's elections, where Republican representative, Donald Trump emerged victorious against the Democratic representative, Hillary Clinton. But did you know, Donald Trump was predicted to win the U.S elections sixteen years ago?

That's right! Our friends from the Simpsons aired an episode sixteen years ago where Donald Trump was predicted to have run for the presidency. In the episode titled "Bart to the Future", Bart Simpson has been shown a vision of what he would be in thirty years. He is seen as a rock musician slacker while his sister became the president of the United States. In the episode, Lisa has inherited the debts and problems of the previous administration, which is Donald Trump's administration.

Fifteen years later, an episode of the Simpsons showed Donald Trump announcing his candidacy for the presidency and was campaigning to his supporters. Who knew that after a year, the Simpson's prediction would come true and Trump DID ascend to the presidency in 2016.

According to an interview to Matt Groening, the creator of the series via The Guardian, he said that the episode of Donald Trump in the White House was the most absurd joke he could think of-- up to this day.

"If by chance Trump gets elected, which I doubt highly will happen, I think we'll suddenly be very inspired."

Groening also said that when they were creating that episode where Trump announced his candidacy and was going down the escalator with Homer following him behind, he said that they opted to go for fantasy on what is happening inside Trump's hair. He says it is hard. He also added that "Mr. Trump's election, as horrible as it would be, would be great for comedy--as comedians always say..."
