A couple of days after Doctor Strange hits theaters Internationally, it's already making a buzz. With few more days until its release in the United States, director Scott Derrickson already knows who he wants to play as the villain for the Doctor Strange 2. Derrickson stated in an interview with IGN he wants the concept of Nightmare to play as the antagonist for the said sequel.

"I really like the character of Nightmare and the concept that the Nightmare Realm is a dimension. [...] That's early -- that's like the first Strange tale. I think that's in the introductory episode of Doctor Strange, and I always loved that. We decided not to do that because that's a bit of a complex idea to try to introduce everything we do introduce and introduce the idea of nightmares themselves as being a dimension. I hope somewhere down the line we do get to explore that because I think that's super cool concept, " Derrickson said in an interview.

Nightmare together with Doctor Strange was first introduced in Marvel's Comic Strange Tales 110, were Nightmare served as an entity of Shuma - Gorath. After his release as an entity, he became the ruler of Nightmare Realm (Dream Dimension). Nightmare's feed through people's fear and is targeting his victims through their dreams. With Stephen Strange newly acquired power of mysticism from the Ancient One, he then will use this skills to travel both the real and dream dimension to battle Nightmare.

In the time when studios ponder sequels ahead of time even before the public sees the movie, there's no wonder for the positive anticipation of fans. There's no confirmation yet regarding Doctor Strange 2 hitting the big screen, but considering the positive reception for Doctor Strange, theirs no hesitation for the said plan.
