'Madam Secretary' Season 3 Episode 2 Updates & Spoilers: Will Elizabeth Become Vice President? Her Children On Enemies' Radar

In "Madame Secretary"Season 3, Elizabeth is very ecncouraging and supportive in President Dalton's campaign for re-election, however this will be harder than before when proposed shift in foreign policy in response to climate change jeopardizes his candidacy. The President also offers Elizabeth the chance to run as Vice President with him come election time. Following a series of events involving their son Jason (Evan Roe), Henry (Tim Daly) and Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) must deal with the fact that their family might be under threat from mysterious assailants.

The promo trailer for Episode 2 of Season 3 of "Madame Secretary," "The Linchpin" shows the McCords would do everything they can to ensure their kids' safety. In the previous episode Jason's laptop had been stolen and, as later found out, hacked. In what must be a parent's worst nightmare, Elizabeth can be seen holding a paper with the words "We can get to your family anytime" written on it, apparently intended for Henry and her to see.

The trailer also reveals that their mystery stalker has apparently been watching the McCord family, especially the children, when it is discovered that someone hacked Jason's school security system.

Steadily mounting worry forces the couple to turn to FBI Director Keith Doherty (Michael Boatman) for help in tracking their unknown enemy before time runs out. Having garnered multiple enemies over the course of their respective jobs, the couple are left wondering who would go so far as to target their children.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth has to delicately negotiate a change of regime in Algeria during a civil war, explains the sypnosis on TV.com. Her plans get complicated when the trusted U.S. Ambassador to the country, Roy Curtis (Dakin Matthews), is unexpectedly found dead. Henry, on the other hand, has to rush against time to save a number of religious antiquities in the country when he discovers that Hizb al-Shahid has been destroying them, all the while dealing with his own family issues.

Will they find out their mysterious hacker? Will Elizabeth be unable to find a peaceful solution to the civil war?
