‘Riverdale’ Latest Spoilers, Updates & Release Date: The CW’s Archie-Comics Based ‘Riverdale’ Welcomes ‘Looking’ Star Raul Castillo

News were heard all over the web that The CW's "Riverdale" will honor Archie Comics, where the series' storyline and characters' identities are based. The show also announced one of the new members of the cast: "Looking" actor Raul Castillo.

The TV Series Finale reveals that the show's take on the popular Archie comic book is stark and revolutionary. Comic parts for the show will be created and produced by Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with some of the show's writers and artist Alitha Martinez. Aguirre-Sacasa explained why it is important for the series to add the comic element to the show. "If you're an Archie Comics fan, this series will serve as a great set of standalone stories in the universe of the TV series. We - myself and the show's writers - are treating the comics with the same care and attention to detail fans will see on the screen as we weave one, large unforgettable narrative," he highlights.

"Riverdale" is starred by Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Luke Perry, KJ Apa, and Madchen Amick. The Hollywood Reports also that "Riverdale" has a new recruit. "Looking" actor Raul Castillo is set to move to "Riverdale" with a recurring role. The series will dig into the weird and dark sides of small-town life in Riverdale.

Raul Castillo is reported to portray Oscar's character. Oscar is a visiting professor at Carson College and a popular songwriter from New York. The actor is expected to appear in episode five. His character hopes to train Archie into becoming a singer-songwriter.

HBO's comedy show "Looking" actor Raul Castillo was known for his portrayal of Richie. He also appeared in various popular shows such as "Easy", "Gotham", and "Special Correspondents". Meanwhile, "Riverdale" is reportedly produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. The CW's Riverdale is set to premiere midseason in year 2017.
