NBA News: Free Agent J.R. Smith Frustrated With Cavaliers; Smith Plans To Join The NFL With the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns seemed to be the choice of J.R. Smith to play with as he posted on Twitter. The real J.R. Smith plans to play in the NFL if he finds himself unsettled in the NBA.

The NBA free agent J.R. Smith seemed to express his frustration with the Cavaliers when he found out the Cavaliers signed the veteran point guard Toney Douglas last week. As per the USA Today, a Twitter message was posted using J.R. Smith's account, citing that he might consider playing with the Cleveland Browns and was seriously thinking about it.

The Twitter message was followed by another message that J.R. Smith was a former football player when he was still in Lakewood High and unfortunately, YouTube is still not around during that time. Using a poll message, Smith asked his fans of what possible position he should play if he decides to go to the Cleveland Browns.

J.R. Smith was known to be one of the pieces in the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship campaign. Smith averaged last season with 12.4 points with an impressive 1.1 steals as a starter with the Cavaliers, he eventually won an NBA title he deserves.

The News Net 5 said that J.R. Smith has an unknown status with the Cavaliers. Citing the fact the J.R. Smith is asking for about $15 million this coming NBA season, but the Cavaliers are already in a $22 million over the NBA cap limit.

In a separate report, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James commented on the boiling issue. Anthony said the he hopes all the best for both of the parties, while pointing out the fact that J.R. Smith helped the Cavaliers win the title. LeBron James also expressed his frustrations as the situation between the Cavaliers and Smith in not progressing, James said that the team really missed J.R. Smith and are very eager to get him back.
