Katy Perry is doing her bit to encourage people to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

Katy Perry has joined hands with comedy website Funny or Die to produce a video that shows her getting naked to vote. Her logic: you can look however you want, but vote you must!

"This year, you can look like sh-t when you vote," said Perry in the video. "I've briefly scanned the constitution, and nowhere does it say you just can't fall out of bed and come to the polls in whatever state you woke up in. In the name of democracy, any 'just out of bed' look is A-OK."

The clip shows Perry with candy and popcorn going to vote in her pajamas while pointing out others showing up in nightgowns, briefs and other such unexpected attire. To prove her point, Perry enthusiastically strips down, but at this point cops show up and arrest a protesting Perry.

As she rides the cop cruiser, she finds that she has a companion and it's hunky comedian Joel McHale, in the buff as well.

Perry had teased the video launch on her Instagram page saying, "TOMORROW, I USE MY BODY AS CLICK BAIT TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD."

The video is part of Funny or Die's "Everyone Votes" campaign, which is being launched in partnership with advocacy non-profit Rock the Vote  ahead of the Voter Registeration Day.

Commenting on the campaign, Rock the Vote VP Jesse Moore pointed out that young voters were uniquely positioned to influence choice of the next president thanks to their passion and sheer size. Moore said that partnership is aiming to create funny and engaging videos that will urge voters to register and vote in the upcoming election, increasing their civic engagement.

Perry has been actively campaigning for Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton, and has performed at the Democratic National Convention. She urged voters to vote on stage as well.

"You'll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist," Perry said onstage. "At the very least you can just cancel out your weird cousin's vote."
