In the latest SmackDown event on June 2, AJ Styles-led 'The Club' dominated Kofi Kingston-led New Day in the Thursday night's main event.

Last Thursday's SmackDown opened with tag team champion 'The New Day' walking their way to the ring to start off with their promo speech until 'The Bullet Club' came out aggressively.

The Club's leader, AJ Styles, appeared in full hell mode while Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were itching for a fight to nab the tag team title. With the focus on Styles and Kofi Kingston, the former called the latter a joke. Kingston stoked Styles' ego by telling him how long it took him to get to WWE.

The whole match between the two versatile wrestlers is pretty much entertaining as both started off with quick exchange of blows giving an evenly matched impression and continued with their in-ring momentum all throughout the fight. While Kingston is best known for fighting alongside his New Day teammates, his match with Styles did change everyone's perception on his ability to fight in an individual capacity. However, when both stables turned rowdy at the ringside, winning tilted to Styles' favor.

As per Bleacher Report, Styles exhibited his versatile gameplan by adding more heel tactics. Members from rival stables were too distracting especially with Gallows, Anderson, Woods and Big E getting in the way of great fighting. Both team leaders should have been given more opportunities to engage in one-on-one fighting. Kingston's memorable performance was his SOS Kofi hit on Styles.

In terms of viewing stats (via Wrestling Inc.), SmackDown with AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston as the main card, the Thursday night event attracted 2.169 million viewers- a slight increase from last week's 2.112 million viewers. The event trails behind The Kelly File and The O'Reilly Factor in TV viewership. However, it dominates viewership in the 18-49 demographic.

Meanwhile, here is an overall summary of the results as per Indian Express: Becky Lynch beat WWE Women's Champion Charlotte by disqualification; The Dudley Boyz beat The Golden Truth; Sami Zayn & Dean Ambrose beat Alberto Del Rio & Kevin Owens; United States Champion Rusev beat Jack Swagger; and, lastly, AJ Styles beat Kofi Kingston.
