Other than Real Madrid, Barcelona are the only club in the world who almost always go for the brightest stars to have emerged from the different leagues when it comes to transfer activities and over the years, they have been successful in attracting the best talents in the game to the Camp Nou consistently. It seems that, that particular trend is going to continue in 2016 as they are now interested in signing Leicester City's goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the summer and are weighing up a bid of £15 million for his signature.

Kasper, who is legendary Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel's son, has been the rock in between the posts for The Foxes in their quest to win the first English Premier League in their history and complete one of the most remarkable league title wins in the history of European football. He has played each of the 35 games for Leicester City in the league this season and has notched up 15 clean sheets in the process, which puts him at joint top among goal keepers as far as cleen sheets are concerned. However, in addition to the numbers, Schmeichel has also displayed all the attributes that one would expect to see in a top notch goalkeeper. His reflexes, anticipation, shot stopping capabilities, marshalling the defence and the ability to play the right pass out of the outfield players has made him one of the key figures in Leicester City's meteoric rise to the top of the table.

Claudio Bravo is the first choice goalkeeper in the La Liga games for Barcelona and with Ter Stegen, the second choice goalie looking for a move away from the Camp Nou, the club are now looking for a worthy goalkeeper who would be able to compete with Bravo for the goalie's spot. Ter Stegen is wanted by English clubs Liverpool and Manchester City and it is quite likely that a deal will go through and if that happens then Schmeichel will be Barcelona's primary target for the second goalkeeper's slot.
