Manchester United's youth player, who graduated to the first team in the latter half of this season has been one of the few bright spots in a relatively disappointing season for the Red Devils. However, unlike in the past when Manchester United used to reward up and coming young players with a decent contract, the case has not been the same with Rashford who has not yet been handed a new contract and there have been no rounds of talks regarding the same.

Rashford set the English Premier League when he scored a brace in a sensational 3-2 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this year has gone from strength to strength over the past few weeks and recently helped United win their FA Cup knockout game against West Ham United. However, he is still waiting for the new deal to be put in place that would see him earning a far better wage than what he is earning now. Rashford's contract with Manchester United will end in the next 14 months and once that happens, he will be free to join any club for free. Considering his talent, there would not be a shortage of suitors and hence it is surprising that United representatives have not initiated talks with him.

Rashford currently earns £1500 and in addition to that he is paid a total of £5000 each time he makes an appearance for the club. Just to put it in context, Wayne Rooney earns £300,00 per week. United, which has a proud tradition of youth team products making it bid in he biggest stage would not want to lose a player of his abilities and it is expected that the club would offer him a deal at some point during the summer. Rashford was taken off by manager Louis van Gaal in last weekend's 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur and there were murmurs of discontent in the player but he put all those doubts to rest when he opened the scoring in the all important FA Cup quarter final replay against West Ham United.
