Everton Transfer News and Rumors: Paris St. Germain Plotting Shock Transfer for Everton's Lukaku
Everton's Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, who has been a revelation this season with his prolific goal scoring record is now a target for big spending Ligue 1 club Paris St. Germain according to reports published in The Daily Star. Lukaku, who has alread scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Merseyside club in 2015-16 has emerged as the surprise choice for PSG, who are looking for a striker to replace their departing Swedish talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic and are prepared to pay the £50 million asking price. Lukaku, who is the English Premier League's3rd highest goal scorer so far with a total of 19 goals, has already stated that he would like to play for a club who will be in the UEFA Champions League next seasons and hence a move to PSG seems logical.
Lukaku, who endured a troubled period at Chelsea since his arrival to England in 2011 spent several seasons on loan at various clubs before moving to Everton in a club record £28 million move in 2014. However, it is not only PSG who are after the signature of the 22 year old Belgian and according to reports both his former club Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the race for his signature in the summer. Chelsea, who have recently appointed former Juventus manager Antonio Conte, as their manager might go on a squad overhaul in the summer and according to reports, their striker Diego Costa might be on his way back to Atletico Madrid. In such a situation, Lukaku could prove to be an excellent replacement considering the amount of Premier League experience he has built up over the years.
On the other hand, Manchester United are also monitoring the situation closely and could come up with a bid as they seek to revitalise their faltering frontline which has been short on goals in the 2015-16 season. However, it seems that it is PSG who has stolen a march on the two Premier Clubs in the quest for the signature of Romelu Lukaku and if there is a bidding war then the Parisian club has the resources to make sure that they end up getting their man at the of it.
