Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka falls early in Miami Open: Players need to prove themselves.

Miami open seemed to be a proving ground for tennis stars like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka. The fifth ranked Spaniard withdrew from the competition after falling ill in the match against no.94 Damir Dzumhur. Nadal has never won any title from past eight months and has struggled badly in the ATP fields. However his impressive performance could be reaching the final four stages at the Indiana Wells. But he has a long clay season ahead of him in just a few weeks. He might be able to answer his critiques for his unsatisfactory performance over the months, if he proves himself in the upcoming events. All he must look into is maintain his fitness and deliver a fine performance.

It was not only Nadal who was expected to deliver but Roger Federer also; he withdrew from the competition as he had a stomach bug problem. Roger Federer has been away from the tennis court for at least more than two months. His last was when he lost to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open Semi-Finals. After which he had suffered an injury while preparing a bath for his twin daughters, which later resulted him to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery. It is to be noted that this was Roger Federer's first major injury in his entire career. However initially he decided to play the Miami Open but later withdrew because of his problems in the stomach as explained earlier. However Federer must be fit for the upcoming games and prove himself.

Stan Wawrinka on the other hand fell early in the competition after losing to Andrey Kuznetsov. However his 2016 records have been quite satisfying, he has been able to win the Chennai and Dubai open and also played in Australia but suffered a loss against Milos Raonic in a five setter match. But he suffered a huge upset when he was beaten by David Goffin in the third round of Indiana wells. Unlike other players he hopes to comeback strongly in the future events.
