Lady Gaga liberates herself by sharing her traumatic experience of being raped at 19 years old by an unnamed producer. During the promotion of The Hunting Ground, a documentary on campus rape, the singer talks about the painful inspiration behind the song Til It Happens to You.

"I didn't tell anyone for, I think, seven years. I didn't know how to even think about it, I didn't know how to accept it, I didn't know how to not blame myself or think it was my fault. It's something that really changed my life, it changed who I was completely. It changed my body, it changed my thoughts," the 29-year old singer said during the Q&A as mentioned in Newscom.au.

Years after the unfortunate incident, the songstress said that it still has a negative impact on her personality.

"It can trigger patterns in your body of physical distress," she said.

After that interview on Thursday last week, Gaga and her fiancée Taylor Kinney attended the Billboard's 10th Annual Women in Music luncheon at Cipriani in New York where she also performed the single Til It Happens To You. She joins other performers Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Ciara in the star-studded event, Daily Mail reported.

The Poker Face singer has been famous for her feminist leanings in her music. During the awarding ceremony where she received the Billboard's Woman of the Year award, she condemned the music industry as a 'f**ckin boys club.'

'It's really hard sometimes for women in music. It's like a f*cking boys club that we just can't get into. Women provide a wisdom to music that is very unique and special," she said that time.

While at the luncheon at Cipriani, the media cannot help but notice Lady Gaga's cute canines garbed in Santa Claus costumes. Photos of the dogs can be seen in TMZ.
