Learning new things about our partner in the first few years of the relationship isn't surprising. But, in this case, it is.

Charlotte Urie from the United Kingdom revealed recently that her "very-masculine" boyfriend was in fact, born a girl.

Kieran Molony, 23, was born a girl and his parents had named him Ciara. At the age of 16, Kieran learnt that he was a transgender. He said that he made many compromises to achieve his present look. "I started taking hormone tablets which lowered my voice and gave me more body hair. I loved the changes," Moloney said.

By the time he reached 17, he was adamant on changing his physique. He started working out at the gym and also getting testosterone injections. In 2009, he underwent double mastectomy that his mother paid for. After the operation, he legally changed his name to Kieran in 2012, Inquisitr reports.

With his chiselled jawline and bulging biceps, he doesn't look like a girl at all now. Moloney said that even though he was blown away by Urie's beauty the first time they had met, he was sceptical about believing her as he had been rejected by previous girlfriends due to the sex-change secret.

But when he confided in her, he was relieved to see her reaction.

"I would never have guessed Kieran's secret, but as soon as he told me he'd been born a girl it didn't matter to me. I was surprised, but I love him for who he is and see him as a man. He's very masculine and has a great body, but he's also my best friend. I never had any concerns about dating someone transgender. Biology doesn't matter,' Urie said.

Moloney said that he was grateful to his family as they stood by him throughout.

The couple moved in together two months later, Mirror reports. They claim that they are closer than ever now and are planning to get married and start a family soon.

"Kieran's my soulmate and we'd be the best parents. We'll explain his background to our kids when they're old enough they'll have two loving parents, that's the most important thing," the soon-to-be bride said.
