Alabama Teacher Arrested for having Sexual Relationships with 3 Students
A married Alabama teacher was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of having inappropriate sexual relationship with three male students between August and October.
She has been charged with three felonies and two misdemeanours, AL.com reports.
Ashley Parkins Pruitt, 28, is an English and Physical Education teacher at Appalachian High School. Pruitt also has a son with her husband.
She is accused of indulging in a sex act with one student, making out with another and sending inappropriate photographs of her to the third. The Blount County Sheriff's Office alleged that the teacher wanted to take the virginity of one of the students.
She reportedly used Snapchat to send messages to them since August. In October, she sent images of her vagina and breasts to at least one of the students who was under the age of 18, New York Daily News reports.
"It's heartbreaking. These are the people we entrust our young people to," Blount County Schools Superintendent James Carr told the Birmingham News. She is held at the Blount County jail with bond set at $215,000.
Pruitt allegedly kissed a student, who is under the age of 19 years, in a car. She engaged in oral sex with one of the victims. Now, she is charged with two counts of providing pornography to a minor, two counts of sex act with a student and one count of sex contact with a student, Daily Mail reports.
Pruitt is being represented by attorney Brett King. Blount County Board of Education officials haven't made any comment on the issue as yet.
