You look great, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you want to look this way forever. Variety, after all, is the spice of life. And where's the fun in fashion or style if you can ever "solve" it once and for all? It's much more fun to shake things up once in a while.

That's why hip people are always changing the way they present themselves. You can, too-and it doesn't take a professional stylist or deep pockets to pull it off. Below, we'll offer a few ideas for changing your style quickly, easily, and on a budget.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Changing your hairstyle is a classic way to change your look. But salons can be pricey, and cutting all your hair off is not something that is very easily reverse. How can you mess around with your beautiful locks while still respecting them?

The answer is hair extensions. It's never been easier to add a bit to your ponytail or conjure up bangs where none were before. There are even clip-in hair extensions that you can easily put in and take out yourself at home. That gives you more liberty to device how your hair will look today-or whether some of it will be there at all. Maybe you can undo short haircuts easily, after all.

Mess Around With Makeup

Makeup can drastically affect a person's appearance, and the relationship between makeup and looks isn't at all simple. Some people may think that they look "better" or "worse" with certain amounts of makeup, but beauty pros would argue that everyone has options. A minimalist makeup look will let your natural skin breathe and show off the fruits of your careful skincare routine. Adding more makeup has its merits, too, and emphasizing different types of makeup-from bold mascaras to simple foundations-can result in very different looks, all of which are likely to be beautiful. So mess around with your makeup: Go with a bold lipstick color for a week, or stop wearing eye shadow for a few days. You can always switch right back, making this a particularly easy and affordable way to change your look.

Reuse, Up-cycle, and Borrow

If your clothes are feeling stale, that doesn't mean that you need to head to the store to change your look. You could transform your wardrobe on the cheap by checking out second-hand shops. You could borrow something unusual from a friend or family member and see if it suits you. Or you could transform the clothes that you already have-either in context (maybe that top looks different with different accessories) or quite literally (chop the legs off those jeans, and they'll become jean shorts).

Of course, you can go to the store if you so desire, but it's important to remember that changing your look doesn't have to mean swiping your credit card.

Draw New Inspiration

If your look feels stale, consider where you're getting your ideas. The new J. Crew catalog may look a little different from the last one, but it's still going to feature the aesthetics that have made J. Crew a hit clothing retailer. If you want to break out of your style patterns, then consider incorporating elements of a genre of style that you usually don't touch. If you're a preppy dresser, consider an indie or hippie aesthetic. If you're surfer-sheik, consider some business casual options.

Relax: You don't have to go all-out here, nor do you have to pick the most unusual and uncharacteristic style you can think of. Just add a touch of something that you wouldn't usually wear, and see if it suits you! It's all part of the fun of changing your look.
