A hijab-clad Muslim woman was escorted out of a Donald Trump rally on Friday for silently protesting the event.

Rose Hamid, 56, had stood up when Trump started to address the topic of Syrian refugees. The Republican frontrunner in the 2016 presidential campaign, who has previously called for a temporary ban on all Muslims from entering the United States, said that the refugees "probably are ISIS." ISIS is another term for the terrorist group, the Islamic State, which is also known as ISIL.

Once Hamid, who was sitting behind Trump, stood up, Trump supporters started to chant "Trump" repeatedly. They were reportedly instructed by the campaign staff to do so if they see someone protesting.

Although Hamid remained quiet, the security still came to escort her and a fellow man, who also stood up, out of the arena. Hamid was wearing a shirt that read, "Salam, I come in peace."

Other silent protesters, who were wearing yellow eight-pointed stars, which referred to the six-pointed stars that Jewish people were forced to wear during the Holocaust, were also told to leave. On the stars was a message that read, "Stop Islamophobia."

While Hamid was leaving, Trump supporters began booing her and telling her to "get out." CNN reported that Hamid, who is a flight attendant, said that one person had shouted, "You have a bomb, you have a bomb."

She added in a phone interview with CNN, "The ugliness really came out fast and that's really scary."

While the protesters were leaving, Trump said, "There is hatred against us that is unbelievable. It's their hatred, it's not our hatred."

Trump and his campaign have not commented on the situation. The Council on American-Islamic Relations has asked Trump to publicly apologize to Hamid.

"The image of a Muslim woman being abused and ejected from a political rally sends a chilling message to American Muslims and to all those who value our nation's traditions of religious diversity and civic participation," said Nihad Awad, the council's national executive director, the Washington Post. "Donald Trump should issue a public apology to the Muslim woman kicked out of his rally and make a clear statement that American Muslims are welcome as fellow citizens and as participants in the nation's political process."

Prior to the start of the rally, the crowd was told that protesting was not allowed.

This protest wasn't the first that involved Syrians in news headlines involving a Muslim woman. Send Iran Love reported that nationwide protests resulted in a deadly crackdown in Iran because of the death of Mahsa Amini, 22 years old, under police custody last September 13, 2022. The police arrested her for not wearing the hijab in the capital Tehran.

Security forces resorted to unlawful force, such as the close-range firing of metal pellets and lived ammunition at protesters. They also inadvertently used water cannons and tear gas. Moreover, the police officers also beat protesters with batons.

Syrian protests provide valuable realizations and lessons to the public. Syrian women are taking a stand. They're now ready to express their voice and exercise their rights. And people support them for their bravery. For many years, Syrian women have been told what to do with strict rules and cultural practices hindering them from speaking up and standing by their principles.

Whether Donald Trump will hold a public apology or not, the news speaks for itself, giving the public an idea of how people treat Syrians and other races. Social advocates call on everyone to see the truth and become keener with the current events in Syria and other countries for intelligent decision-making in fundraising, politics, business, and other social areas.
