Civilization VI Mac Version Now Made Available Through Steam; Civilization VI Mac App Store Downloadable To Be Released Soon

A week ago, specifically on Monday last week, the makers of Sid Meier's Civilization VI announced the release of its Mac version. They made this announcement three days after they launched the PC version of the game.

However, this version is not yet downloadable through the Mac App Store but through Steam, Mac Rumors reported. According to the widely-read publication, the makers of the newly-released version of Sid Meier's Civilization VI are also the same team who worked behind Civilization V and its popular expansions.

The major changes are found in Sid Meier's Civilization VI's is seen through the unit behavior, AI, city building, research system, among others. Some of these are named as the combined arms, active research, expansive empires, dynamic diplomacy, and enhanced multiplayer.

CIO notes Aspyr's announcement that they are going to make a Mac App Store downloadable version of Sid Meier's Civilization VI soon. For now, gamers can choose two versions of the game that are available on Steam for Mac users. One is the Digital Deluxe version priced at $79.99. The other one is the regular version which costs $59.99.

The publication advices new gamers to learn from videos uploaded on Sid Meier's Civilization VI's website so they can get a full understanding of how the game works and its unique features. Some gamers used Reddit to give comments about the newly-released mac version of the game.

One gamer under the nick David_Harrison said that Civilization games installed on Macs does not really slow down the system, except for specific older versions. "Developing a Mac native Metal version though wouldn't have been cheap, though there are already Civilzation games for iOS that may have given them the experience or talent they need to do it properly. Here's hoping," he added. Meanwhile, some gamers are frustrated that they won't even bother trying to download it because of their Mac's low memory capacity.
