'Jessica Jones' Takes Girl Power To The Next Level, All Episodes Of Season 2 Will Be Directed By Women
“Jessica Jones” new Season 2 will feature an all women director crew. Report says that each episode will be directed by a woman driector.
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that the news is true, the newly developed “Jessica Jones” Season 2 will have a full on female crew of directors, the idea sprang up while they wondered how to increase female influence in the cinematography field. This decision goes well with the female empowerment fantasy which goes on inside the production of the show and in its story and development. The crew of this Marvel related TV Show completely backs this new idea and how its development will affect the series will become visible only with the time to come.
Variety shares some more insight on the topic. Executive producer and show runner Melissa Rosenberg is the one that came up with the idea of making a full female-only director cast for “Jessica Jones” Season 2.
Rosenberg first discussed the idea at her panel at Transforming Hollywood 7. First it began with the idea of rising the number of female directors for the show in order to stimulate the work of female directors, but later on it evolved into the project for the full female directors cast.
According to the release, the decision for the full-female directors cast is completely backed and supported by the Marvel representatives responsible for the development of “Jessica Jones” and its second season.
