'The Last of Us 2' may be ready for development after Naughty Dog dropped hints about moving on another big project barely a month after the release of Uncharted 4. If a career job posting on its website is of any indication, then fans could hope that the game may soon be in the works.

Naughty Dog recently posted a job ad stating that it's searching for game designers in its creative studio. This sounds like a norm in the gaming industry but there are speculations that this could be hint that developers are readying for the making of the Last of US sequel.

As per lead designer Emilia Schatz's Twitter post, Naughty dog is "looking for level designers ...with art and modeling experience." As discussed in detail on the company's career page, the candidate must possess the ability to work on an "emotionally engaging" high concept third-person action game. The key selling point of the game is the powerful narrative that keeps a gamer emotionally locked in from the start all the way to the climactic finish.

Based on the job description, Gaming Bolt speculated that the job likely points to either 'The Last of Us' sequel or an entirely new IP. The job ad hints might be explained in lengthy detail at upcoming E3.

Following the Easter egg discovery of a 'Last of Us' poster in 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' epilogue with a caption that reads 'American Daughters,' Master Herald reported that the forthcoming installment's main storyline revolves around pregnant Ellie's immunity to the virus which can be utilized as a means of treating the infection. Ellie's natural immunity to the said virus allowed her to stay normal while the rest of the infected population quickly evolved into zombies.

Another speculation doing rounds online suggest that the next installment may actually be a prequel instead of a sequel which many not feature Ellie and Joel. For now, everything should be taken with a grain of salt until an official words comes out directly from the horse's mouth.
