Malia, Barack Obama's eldest daughter, got a summer job on HBO series Girls, according to nbcwashington. Malia has been working as a production assistant on the Los Angeles set of the new TV series "Extant," starring Halle Berry and produced by Steven Spielberg.

The 17-year-old, who celebrated her birthday recently, has said that she wants to pursue a career in TV or film after she graduates next year.

When she was a production assistant on the set of the CBS summer series, a Gravity and Alien sci-fi drama that showed Berry readjusting to life on earth after a year in space, " Obama helped with computer shop alignments and slated a take," according to a source.

The Wire said that Malia was also seen hanging out on the set of Girls last week.

Malia is a fan of Lena Dunham's hit HBO series. However, the Obamas are said to being a bit wary of their daughter's interest in the raunchy production.

Michelle, Malia's mother, has recalled Malia's desire to be movie artiste.

"Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she knows she has years in college to explore her interest," she had said.
