Game of Thrones Finale: Season 5's Last Episode Breaks Piracy Records with 1.5 Million Illegal Downloads in 8 Hours

Game of Thrones season finale broke a new piracy record, with 1.5 million downloads in eight hours. The number is expected to swell to over 10 million during the days to come.
According to data gathered by TorrentFreak, the number of downloads were never this much in such a short period of time.
Notably, the show is most popular in the United States, the United Kingdom and India.
At one point, 224,367 people were sharing a single torrent at the same time. 150,003 were sharing a complete copy of that particular torrent while 74,364 were still downloading, TorrentFreak noted.
In the last three years, Game of Thrones has been the most pirated TV-show.
