Facebook has launched a new feature for iOS users - Place Tips - that would offer location-based recommendations, like Yelp and Foursquare. After enabling the feature, it will pop up relevant content about your location as long as you're there.
Twitter is reportedly teaming up with Foursquare to make tweets not just timely but also relevant and interesting. According to a report from Business Insider, Twitter plans to add a location layer to the platform and these geo-based features could roll out as soon as in the first quarter.
Foursquare is finally available on the iPad. The app is launched several months after Foursquare split its service in two - check-ins via a new Swarm app - and turning the main Foursquare app into straight discovery service.
