Japan was more violent and killed more people during its occupation of China than it lost in Hiroshima, said Chinese spokespersons.
Barack Obama, in the final months of his tenure, is the first sitting President to visit Hiroshima, but has declined to apologise for the bombing of the city more than 70 years ago.
