Kendrick Lamar fans will have to wait a little bit longer for the rapper's new album.

Rumors surfaced last week that Lamar's new album was coming out on January 27. The rumors started when an image of a "coming soon list" compiled by Walmart was uploaded on a music forum, Section Eighty by user, Besky. In the photo, Kendrick Lamar was listed next to the said date.

The CEO of Lamar's record label, TDE, confirmed through Twitter that the Walmart release date was false. At the moment, Lamar and his label have been very tight-lipped about his highly anticipated studio album. The title and album cover have yet to be released. The album currently does not have a release date, leaving fans in dark. According to Huffington Post, Lamar's new album is one of the years most anticipated, writing:

"Perhaps the most highly anticipated hip hop album of 2015 will be Kendrick Lamar's follow up to 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'. Just don't tell that to Kanye. No date has been set for Lamar's new album, but we've heard the first single 'I' and he previewed an unknown track on the last episode of "The Colbert Report". Colbert allegedly heard four new album tracks and says that they're next level. If you trust Colbert's rap ear, it should be as amazing as we hope it will be. "

Lamar teased fans earlier when he performed an untitled song on The Colbert Report. Lamar later revealed to Billboard that the song will not be in his new album.

The rapper, however, is scheduled to perform in several musical festivals in February and March to promote his new music.

Lamar's career took off when he first signed with Top Dawg Entertainment on 2004. In 2012, he and his label signed a joint contact with Aftermath and Interscope Records. He released his first major-label studio album on October 22, 2012 titled good kid, m.A.A.d city. His songs, "Swimming Pools (Drank)," "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe," and "Poetic Justice" were all Top 40 hits.

In 2014, Lamar received seven Grammy nominations at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
