'The Big Bang Theory' News & Update: Spin-off Series In The Works; Young Sheldon Has Been Named

Iain Armitage is possibly the young Sheldon in "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off series. The spin-off is to be a prequel for the show and will explore Sheldon's life as a child.

According to a report, "The Big Bang Theory" has been a success in years. The success of the series then led CBS and Warner Bros. to go with a spin-off series that will focus on the life of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) as a child up until hi adulthood.

"The Big Band Theory" spin-off will be titled "Sheldon" and will cast Zoe Perry as Sheldon's mother. Perry is the real life daughter of Laurie Metcalf who is currently portraying the role of Sheldon's mom in the series.

A report indicated that Iain Armitage is to take on the role as Sheldon during his younger years in "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off series. Armitage already appeared in HBO's "Big Little Lies" at a young age. The prequel is to tell the story of how Sheldon came to be and how he was as a child.

Armitage is eight years old and already has a resume that is fit for a star. Aside from "Big Little Lies," he also made an appearance in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Armitage also made an appearance on Steve Harvey's "Little Big Shots." He is also making a name online by his short video reviews that are currently going viral.

Meanwhile, aside from the spin-off series for "The Big Bang Theory," the show has also been renewed for two seasons. The spin-off series titled "Sheldon" will have 13 episodes for its first season. The script of the show is written by Steve Molaro while Parsons is one of the executive producers of the show.

The Big Bang Theory spin-off comes from the original creative team of the series. It will tell more on how Sheldon's life had been growing up in Texas.
