Xbox is coming with a Netflix-type subscription plan called Xbox Game Pass with a monthly subscription charge of $9.99. The subscription plan is only available for Xbox One, and people who wanted to opt for the plan can get it online through Xbox One or PC. Microsoft is planning to bring it available in late spring 2017 per the official information.

The subscription plan gives unlimited access to the players over a hundred popular games including NBA 2K16, Payday 2, Halo 5: Guardians, LEGO and Batman. Microsoft confirmed that it would add games every month to the subscription, while some of the existing games could be removed. The firm confirmed that the option of adding more games would give a great variety of games every month and engage the gamers in a better way. The players would have the option to download the games to the library and play offline for 30 days online or offline.

Interestingly, some of the Xbox 360 backward-compatible games will also be made available on the subscription plan. Additionally, the subscription plans users will get 20 percent discount on buying different games from the catalog and another 10 percent for any other add-ons to the game. The firm has confirmed that it would make most popular games in the genres of sports, shooter, action, adventure, puzzle, and family favorite, available in the plan. It wants to ensure that everyone will find something interesting in the plan.

"Since we are planning to launch Xbox Scorpio during the holiday, we look for options to make our platform stronger by making improvements to help the growing population of gamers on Xbox Live," said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox. "We would like to add more genres of games across Windows 10 and Xbox One to make it more lucrative." Xbox Scorpio is a console beast that is under development by Xbox, and it is expected in 2017 holiday season.
