The holiday season comes with more sales and deals, and Steam subscribers will be happy to know that the Winter Steam Sale finally has an official start date.

According to a Twitter post from Paypal UK, the event will start on Dec. 22nd, and knowing Steam, eager gamers will be getting some good deals with some big-name titles this year.

According to Polygon, the sale will come on the same time as the Steam Awards. For everyday till Dec. 29, players will have 24 hours to vote on a new category with the winners getting announced on New Year's Eve.

The first category for the Steam Awards is "The Villain Most in Need of a Hug Award," and nominees included are games Dead by Daylight, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Borderlands 2, and Portal 2. No doubt that those games might also get some discount during the Steam Sale.

The last big sale that Steam had was during the annual Autumn Sale, right in time for Black Friday. The sale saw huge price drops on big titles like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Dark Souls, Life is Strange, and Sid Meir's Civilization 6.

Hopefully a lot of subscribers have enough in their wallets to get the best deals during the sale. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is considered to be one of the best-selling games of 2016 (despite the outstandingly negative reception of the response trailer), and if the Autumn sale saw a deal for Infinite Warfare, Steam may also have another deal coming this Winter for people who weren't able to snag it.

As of now, Steam is offering some big deals for games in the Resident Evil franchise as well as Civilization 6, Deus Ex, and Men of War 2: Assault Squad.

The Steam Winter Sale kicks in on Dec. 22.
