"Dragon Ball Super" episode 71 gave fans a major cliffhanger. Son Goku's heart stopped beating so does that mean that the Saiyan is dead? We are guessing no as the preview of "Dragon Ball Super" episode 72 highlighted the continuation of the battle between Hit and Goku.

For this reason, it is safe to say that Goku will be revived and manage to get back into the fight. Speculations surfaced stating that he will be receiving a shock from the Ki blast he gave out just before he passed out. That said, episode 72 of "DBS" will see Goku's counter attack and now that he already saw Hit's technique, he may come up with a strategy to finally end the fight.

Reports also claimed that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 72 might reveal the identity of the one who employed Hit to kill the Saiyan. Apparently, Vados hired the assassin as an order from another villain who is yet to be confirmed. Speculations are rife that the real enemy who wants Goku dead is someone familiar to the "DBS" heroes and it could be Beerus or Whis.

Goku is expected be part of the Omniverse Tournament where the best fighters of the Dragon Ball multiverse will be joining too. Because of this, the God of Destruction may have hired the assassin to give the Saiyan a more vigorous training. However, spoilers mentioned above are merely speculations for now and may not happen in the actual episode.

Meanwhile, "DBS" is expected to enter a new arc come February 2017. The current storyline is expected to conclude on the 76th episode of "DBS" and will set the stage for the "Universal Survival" arc. The visual for the upcoming arc showed analive Goku with the rest of the Universe 7 team, including Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin, Android 17, Android 18, Tenshinhan, Master Roshi, and Majin Buu, Anime News Network reported.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 72 air date is scheduled on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The episode title is "Counter-attack? An Invisible Assassination Skill." The "Universal Survival" arc, on the other hand, is said to begin on Feb. 5, 2017.
