"The Winds Of Winter" was expected to be released during Christmas time this year because of its title which has the word "Winter". But, unfortunately, it seems like it won't be released anytime soon yet.

Here's a brief background of the book: "The Winds Of Winter" is the sixth book from the novel series titled "A Song of Fire and Ice". It is expected to be released next year. Author George R.R. Martin already gave a lot of details about what it will contain in a recent book event.

Speculations from Reddit say that the delay of the book's release is caused by the author's busy schedule. Because it was delayed and fans of the series are already bombarding George R.R. Martin with a lot of questions, he finally teased some of the major details which fans should really anticipate.

Martin answered questions linked to "The Winds Of Winter" during Guadalajara International Book Fair and hinted how it won't be pleasant to anyone who expects a happy book. "You know, it is called The Winds of Winter, and I've been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. And winter's the time when things die, and you know... cold, and ice and darkness fill the world," he said.

What was more intriguing is George R.R. Martin's hint of how "A Song of Fire and Ice" series will end. "That's not to say that everything is going to be tied up completely neatly in a bow. I think there's a difference between a loose end and something that's deliberately left by the author ambiguous or something for the readers to think about and worry about and debate about," he added. The official release date of "The Winds Of Winter", an upcoming novel linked to hit series "Game Of Thrones", is not yet officially confirmed.
