"Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress" long-awaited comeback is finally confirmed. Wit Studio announced that "Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress" will premiere by 2018. Although it is way longer than expected, the additional information given brings hope and anticipation to its fans.

The recent announcement was held at the Noitamina Project Unveiling via live stream. Crunchyroll reported that indeed "Kabanari Of The Iron Fortress" Season 2 is set to be released by 2018. Also, a series of promos and footages will be released on the way.

"During the industrial revolution, mankind is threatened by a sudden emergence of undead monsters who can only be killed by piercing their heart through an iron plate. Those bitten become one of them. Called "Kabane," these monsters exploded in number. The Hinomoto people built fortress stations and barricaded themselves inside. Only steam locomotives, the Hayajiros, can travel between them," according to Amazon who streamed the series early this year.

For the meantime, fans can enjoy the compilation film set to be released on December 31 and January 7. According to Universty Herald, both compile animation film is set to stream for two weeks each. Also, a special pre-screening for the first part will be held at Shinjuku Picadilly in Tokyo on December 22. The first part of the compilation film is entitled "Tsuduo Hikari."

Also, North America fans can get the two-part compilation film via Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The "Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress" disc will be translated by Funimation. Furthermore, director Tetsuro Araki clarified that the upcoming announcement on 2018 is an animated production.

There are no further details toward the plots for "Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress" Season 2. All announcement will be made sometime in 2018.
