There's so much excitement surrounding the upcoming Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 successor, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Earlier this month, Marvel Entertainment revealed the very first teaser for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, filling up fans of the popular fighting game franchise with a whole lot of excitement. Marvel didn't reveal too many details during the release of the teaser however. Thankfully, it seems like a couple of the members of Capcom and Marvel's teams were glad to answer Yahoo News' questions about the game in a recent interview.

It seems like the videogame developers are aiming for something beyond the original Marvel vs. Capcom franchise and there's definitely going to be some surprises for fans once the game sees released.

"It's not called Marvel vs. Capcom 4. There's a lot of meaning behind the Infinite part. Capcom can make great fighting games. What we've never been able to do is tell the story about why these worlds are coming together," Mike Jones, Marvel Games executive producer revealed during the interview.

Capcom and Marvel are teaming up together to bring an even better Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and it looks like there's going to be a lot of emphasis on story this time around. Arcade mode and second player menu control just didn't cut it for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom, and now it looks like the two videogame developers are looking for another route.

"Story is a huge pillar for this game. We will be coming out with a fully-featured cinematic story mode," Jones further revealed.

Of course, the team will also be giving fans what they want. There will be more characters like Ryu, Iron Man, Mega Man, the Blue Bomber, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Morigan, and so much more. With so many characters being made available in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, some have even begun to believe that the God of Mischief, Loki, just might make it into the game as well.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is slated for release 2017.
