Toys R Us announced yesterday that it is restocking more Hatchimals starting on Sunday, December 18. A new shipment of the interactive toy will be displayed at the retailer's store shelves around the country. Toys R Us added that its stores will start accepting customers at 6 A.M.

Hatchimals was introduced in October 2016 and emerged as one of the must-have toys this year. Its popularity comes close to the Nintendo NES Classic Edition console. Both toys commanded very high demand that resulted in limited or no supply at all.

The scarcity of the sought-after interactive egg prompted parents to search far and wide beyond the U.S. shores, according to the Wall Street Journal. Many desperate parents also failed to snag an item even from online sites where Hatchimals were always sold out. Their next resort is to hunt the toy in Japan, Canada, and Scandinavia where demand is lesser.

Each time new shipments are announced, long lines are expected of frantic Hatchimal-hunting parents at Walmart, Target, and Toys R Us stores. Some parents are willing to fork out more than the toy's $59.99 SRP. Opportunistic resellers on eBay were reportedly making a cash cow out of the product.

Toys R Us clarified that the Hatchimals will be sold at  a higher price of $79.99 on Sunday. No information is provided on the number of toys to be available as part of the shipment.

Those who will be unlucky this Sunday will still have the chance to get their Hatchimals. Toys R Us promised that there will be more shipments over the coming days. Other retailers such as Target and Walmart are claiming that there will be more inventories between now and Christmas.

For parents who are desperately trying to buy Hatchimals, they are advised to check inventory-tracking websites like Brick Seek. This online portal contains information on Hatchimals inventory at Target, Walmart, Toys R Us and others.
