Weapon System is spotted on the artificial island made by China in the disputed South China Sea. Tensions are growing while Political Analyst says the world will expect a Global Crisis.

Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative recently released satellite images of the artificial island in the South China Sea. It consists of anti-aircraft guns and another sort of weapon system deskbound on hexagonal arrangements.

"Beijing is serious about the defense of its artificial islands in case of an armed contingency in the South China Sea," said Think Tank seeing the weapon system. They added, "Among other things, they would be the last line of defense against cruise missiles launched by the United States or others against these soon-to-be-operational air bases."

Contested Waters

After World War II, the United States sees the Philippines as the most strategic military defense location in the South China Sea and entire Asia even without weapon system. The artificial islands are built on disputed seas where the Philippines and neighboring countries are claiming the territory.

3000-acres in the South China Sea are already reclaimed by China since 2014, according to the United States. It means that the disputing countries including Malaysia, Vietnam, and Taiwan only claimed 100-acre of lands in the last four decades and a half.         The land reclaimed by China with weapon system overpowered other countries.

In a standpoint, the US remained neutral on the issue despite the weapon system but visibly conducting a navigating operation in the area. "I've also been loud and clear that we will not allow the shared domains to be closed down unilaterally - no matter how many bases are built on artificial features in the South China Sea," Said US Admiral Harry Harris.

US-China Relation

The troubling action of China is a possible response of President-elect Donald Trump. However, even before Donald Trump's election, China made it clear that standing down from the South China Sea is not an option.

However, the recent feud between Donald Trump and China fuels more trouble that can lead to a global crisis. Putting the "One China Policy" is a bargaining chip for trade needs more thinking before putting it to finality. The US will have to deal with Chinese Weapon System.
