An adorable surprise character stole the show with its brief showing in Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". With the unexpected starring of "Baby Groot" in the last parts of the film, it has captured the followers with over 81 million viewing hits in the first 24 hours when the trailer was released.

81 million views is a very huge margin for basis of what's to come and as to what will be done with all the plans and activities of the sales and marketing staff of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". Enter Baby Groot and plus the very positive reaction from the trailer's views. It is now the second largest viewed teaser ever recorded after Beauty and the Beast, as a subjected article in cnet.com.

James Gunn pointed out that Baby Groot was more than just an impromptu character injected to sell more promotional items for the production, "he is more than that", Gunn reiterated. He further stated that Baby Groot was already made up in the previous movie of the "Guardians of the Galaxy". Only that it just won't fit in.

Gunn saw that in the second installment of the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". He immediately went to his partners at Marvel and presented his idea fearing that somehow this surprise character would affect the popularity of some players, like the adult Groot for example, and pulling in some extra characters could affect the film as well, as explained in the article at FILM.

To the director's surprise, his partners at Marvel Cinematic Universe were more than willing to support him in his push for Baby Groot to be featured in the film. His determination to have Baby Groot featured in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2" paid off.

Baby Groot will now be present in the succeeding films as it goes. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is scheduled to be screened on May 5, 2017.
