The time has finally arrived to hit the long-awaited 7.00 in the patch update that went live today for the beloved Dota 2 game. The 7.00 patch brings a chunk load of new features for Dota, almost successfully revamping the mechanisms of the game, bringing a fresh feel going forward.

One of the features of the update is the introduction of a new hero in the form of the Monkey King, as reported by Game Spot. The Monkey King is an melee agility carry hero that closely, if not accurately, resembles the Chinese mythical character Sun Wukong which shares the same nickname as the new hero. In broad strokes, the ability of the Monkey King highlights his mischievous nature and his all-powerful staff as the character can slam the staff on the ground.

Having a monkey as inspiration, the Monkey King can also jump from tree to tree, resembling the the leap ability of Mirana only with different mechanics. The Monkey King can also disguise himself to avoid detection by the enemy as well as summon copies of himself.

In support of the character, Valve announced that a comic will be released to lay groundwork for the new character. The game map, as well as other Monkey King-themed items, will be available to welcome the arrival of the new hero.

The patch also introduces a lot of changes in the interface and the overall look of Dota. The HUD for gamers has been re-designed. The map received a lot of changes in terms of Roshan's position transferring to the middle of the map, the addition of fountains, and a few other tweaks. All the changes that 7.00 brings to the game can be found in detail in the official Dota 2 website.
