Till now, the honeymoon was something the newlyweds went for on the earth. But now, the couples can really go 'over the moon' when it comes to honeymooning. Reports say that 10 years from now, newly married couples can celebrate their lifetime moment on the moon.

Moon Express or MoonEx, an American private start-up company which is preparing to launch a lunar mission that could fulfil the dream of those who want to set their foot on the moon in the next decade, said reports. MoonEx will take the help of SpaceX's CEO Elon Musk to take a trip to the natural satellite for $10,000, said a Science World Report article.

According to The Tecake, a mission to moon generally costs one person $25 billion but things could get really cheap in the next 10 years, said Naveen Jain, the founder of MoonEx.

Jain said in a recent interview with CNBC in Helsinki: "It's very complimentary as a matter of fact...Elon (Musk) will build the rocket and we do the rover. Essentially, he lays the cables and we do the last mile." The IB Times reported.

"I believe in the next 10 years, there is going to be a gentleman on their knees asking their sweetheart to say, honey will you go to the moon with me for honeymoon," Jain said.

MoonEx's CEO Bob Richards hailed the U.S. government saying Moon Express 2017 is a landmark decision and also a "pathfinder" for private commercial missions beyond Planet Earth's orbit, the Science World Report article added.

"We are now free to set sail as explorers to Earth's eighth continent, the moon, seeking new knowledge and resources to expand Earth's economic sphere for the benefit of all humanity," Roberts said. The U.S. government's first-ever go-ahead for the Moon Express mission sets a regulatory framework for several other commercial expeditions to the moon and other space objects, according to a Daily Mail report.
